Step into Elizabethan London this summer with Shakespeare’s The Comedy of Errors. Back by popular demand, the esteemed production returns to the Globe, transforming it into a bustling 16th century dock primed for a playful time. A story about long-lost siblings and ancient rivalries, complete with an extraordinary cast, this farcical tale of mistaken identity provides a brisk, boisterous and highly comical adaptation of the classic tale.
Thanks to a shipwreck, two sets of twins are separated at birth only to grow up in rival cities and be given the exact same names. When Antipholus of Syracuse and his servant Dromio travel to the ancient Greek city of Ephesus in search of their lost siblings, chaos ensues as a series of misunderstandings and miscommunications lead to some sticky situations.
This play contains themes of misogyny, racism and offensive language.
