HAND TO GOD is the exciting new transfer from Broadway to London's Vaudeville Theatre.
Described as Avenue Q meets The Book Of Mormon, Hand To God at the Vaudeville Theatre is set to take London by storm! An award-winning, fresh and funny play. "Kinda Sesame St meets The Exorcist" says The New York Times
HAND TO GOD, the gleefully dark Broadway comedy about a boy and his potentially satanic hand puppet, will close at the Shubert-owned Booth on Broadway in January before opening in London’s Vaudeville Theatre in the West End in February.
The London production of Hand To God is an exciting transfer for Nimax Theatres after a hugely successful recent run of hit West End productions.
Deep in the heart of Broadway, there lurks a creature so outrageous, so scandalous, so totally surprising… and so refreshingly, shockingly true. This is Tyrone, the scene-stealing sprite who springs hilariously to life in this brilliant, Tony-nominated thrill ride of a comedy. True, Tyrone may be an inanimate object, but his riotously raunchy riffs on everything from love to faith shake a small Texas town to its core, while proving that it is both sinfulness and saintliness that make us all truly human… and utterly alive.

As unexpected as it sounds, the show about a satanic sock puppet on the arm of an unstable child leaves you laughing one second and unsettled the next. From the wild mind of writer Robert Askins, the Broadway transfer Hand To God at the Vaudeville Theatre is a rollercoaster from start to finish, one which you’re sure to enjoy.

Well, I can’t say I wasn’t warned.
Hand to God, described by The New Yorker as ‘Sesame Street meets The Exorcist’, is the story of Jason, who’s been dragged along to his mum’s puppet-making class at the local church, as she tries to keep busy following the death of his father. Unfortunately while his mother’s getting propositioned by both teenager Timothy and the church pastor, Jason’s puppet, Tyrone, is starting to take on a life of his own, and develops a bad habit of saying inappropriate things, exploding light bulbs and biting people’s earlobes off.

Every now and then a show comes along to shake up the West End a little. Jerry Springer: The Opera did it in 2003, The Book of Mormon came along in 2013 and now its Hand To God's turn to shock and exhilarate London audiences in 2016.
