Gypsy is based on the true life memoirs of legendary burlesque entertainer, Gypsy Rose Lee, it tells the tale of Momma Rose and her two daughters, Baby June and Louise, trekking across America in their family vaudeville act. But times are changing, audiences are expecting more, and the two girls have their own ambitions in mind. The rise of burlesque is upon them, and nothing will ever be the same again for Momma Rose.
With lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, book by Arthur Laurents and music by Jule Styne, this production of Gypsy is the first to be seen in London for 40 years.

Imelda Staunton is contracted to be in all shows including midweek matinees for all dates up to 28th November, barring illness. Ms Staunton is not expected to take any holidays for the remainder of her run. Please note the Grand Circle is steep in this theatre and not suitable for anyone with vertigo.

La próxima semana (18 de marzo) la producción del West End de Jersey Boys en el Piccadilly Theatre dará la bienvenida a Gary Watson al reparto. El actor, que anteriormente interpretó a Marius en Los Miserables y a Zach en A Chorus Line, sustituye a Matt Nalton como Nick Massi. Watson se une a un reparto estelar en el Piccadilly Theatre , que incluye a Michael Watson como Frankie Valli, Edd Post como Bob Gaudio y Jon Boydon como Tommy DeVito, todos ellos con muchos años en el espectáculo.

Cuando estaba en quinto y sexto curso de primaria, tras mi pasión por Hairspray, surgió otra obsesión musical : Into The Woods. No me gustaban nada más que los ritmos y melodías complicados de Sondheim, y la historia que contaban su música y el libro de James Lapine; Veía la grabación oficial de la producción original de Broadway una y otra vez hasta que conocía las canciones palabra por palabra.
