THE SOCIETY OF LONDON THEATRE ANNOUNCES MARK RUBINSTEIN AS NEW PRESIDENT

**Mark Rubinstein** takes over from **Nica Burns** as SOLT president **The Society of London Theatre** has appointed independent producer Mark Rubinstein as the successor to Nica Burns as president. Rubinstein is currently producing the hugely successfully production of [**Butley**](https://www.londontheatredirect.com/play/916/Butley-tickets.aspx) in the West End. Other credits include La Clique and War Horse. Rubinstein was previously finance director at the **Royal Court** and a senior producer for **Bill Kenwright**. The announcement was made at SOLT’s annual general meeting, where Burns stood down after three years leading the association. Nica Burns has been a very vocal and popular president of **SOLT** and made a barnstorming speech in support of the arts at this year’s Laurence Olivier Awards ceremony. Rubinstein commented: “I appreciate the enormous work Nica Burns and (chief executive) Julian Bird have done and the changes they have made to the society to bring it further into the 21st century. I am greatly looking forward to working with everybody.” Rubinstein will serve as SOLT president for the next three years with Burns becoming vice president.
