Revival of Michael Frayn’s Noises Off receives West End transfer

Posted on (Updated on 26 Jul 2019)
**Michael Frayn**’s award-winning, hilarious play has just been announced to be making a transfer to the [**West End’s Garrick Theatre**](https://www.londontheatredirect.com/venue/32/garrick-theatre.aspx); which will be the first time since 2012 that London has seen a production of Frayn’s play. Tickets for the [***Noises Off***](https://www.londontheatredirect.com/play/4236/noises-off-tickets.aspx) West End transfer are a must following the critical acclaim the production received for its extended run (due to popular demand) at the [**Lyric Hammersmith**](https://www.londontheatredirect.com/venue/132/lyric-hammersmith.aspx).

### Will the **Lyric Hammersmith** *Noises Off* cast reprise their roles? When the transfer was being negotiated and [**rumours spiralled**](https://www.londontheatredirect.com/news/noises-off-eyes-a-west-end-transfer-following-widespread-acclaim), big talks revolved around whether the same cast would be reprising their roles. Following how well received they have been [**off-West End**](https://www.londontheatredirect.com/tickets/off-west-end-theatre) it was only right to have the same cast. The cast includes **Meera Syal** (*Pinter at the Pinter*, **Harold Pinter Theatre**), **Lois Chimimba** (*Three Sisters*, **Almeida Theatre**), **Jonathan Cullen** (*Merry Wives of Windsor*, **RSC**), **Debra Gillet** (*Limehouse*, **Donmar Warehouse**), **Amy Morgan** (*Exit The King*, **National Theatre**), **Enyi Okoronkwo** (*Tartuffe*, **National Theatre**), **Lloyd Owen** (*The Bodyguard*, **Adelphi Theatre**), **Daniel Rigby** (*Twelfth Night*, **National Theatre**), and **Simon Rouse** (*The Dresser*, **Duke of York’s Theatre**). ### What is *Noises Off* about? Written originally in 1982, **Michael Frayn**’s hysterical farce became an instant [**British classic**](https://www.londontheatredirect.com/tickets/british-classic). *Noises Off* was the original [***The Play That Goes Wrong***](https://www.londontheatredirect.com/play/1520/the-play-that-goes-wrong-tickets.aspx), being a hilarious play shown from behind and taking its name from the theatrical stage direction meaning there is noise coming from off-stage. Each act shows performances of a play within a play by the name of *Nothing On*. The play spans from the technical rehearsal to a matinee performance one week through the run and to a performance near the end of its 10-week run. It begins with simple mishaps like missed cues and missed lines to offstage shenanigans and onstage bedlams. ### *Noises Off* tickets for the West End Garrick Theatre transfer are available now! This smash-hit revival directed by **Jeremy Herrin** boasts breathtaking design and incredible split-second timing. You won’t want to miss this outstanding production’s West End transfer beginning at the [**Garrick Theatre**](https://www.londontheatredirect.com/venue/32/garrick-theatre.aspx) on 27 September 2019. *Noises Off* tickets will likely be in high demand as is the case for its initial run at the [**Lyric Hammersmith**](https://www.londontheatredirect.com/venue/132/lyric-hammersmith.aspx).
