Renowned soap opera star Shobna Gulati set to join the cast of Everybody's Talking About Jamie

Award-winning musical [*Everybody's Talking About Jamie*](https://www.londontheatredirect.com/musical/2756/everybodys-talking-about-jamie-tickets.aspx) has confirmed **Shobna Gulati** for the role of Ray. She will be replacing *Jamie *veteran **Mina Anwar,** who played Ray during the show's premiere in Sheffield and reprised her role for the West End transfer. **Anwar **left the production to pursue other projects.
**Shobna Gulati **is a **soap opera superstar** who is best known for playing Anita in *dinnerladies*, Sunita Alahan in *Coronation Street,* and* *Farah Khurana in *River City. *She also made an appearance in *EastEnders*, making her among the few actors to have appeared in both *EastEnders* and *Coronation Street.*
Her stage credits include *Dancing Within Walls* at the Contact Theatre in Manchester, *The Secret Policeman's Ball *at the Royal Albert Hall in London, *Pretend You Have Big Buildings *at the Royal Exchange in Manchester, *Daisy Pulls It Off *at the Park Theatre, *Anita & Me *at the Birmingham Rep and *Grease *at Leicester Curve.
**Gulati** joins **Lucie Shorthouse,** who recently won a [WhatsOnStage Award](https://www.londontheatredirect.com/post/1158/42nd-street-wins-big-at-the-18th-annual-whatsonstage-awards.aspx) for Best Supporting Actress in a Musical for her role as Pritti Pasha in *Jamie*. Other continuing cast members include the ravishing **John McCrea** as the eponymous Jamie, **Tamsin Carroll** as Miss Hedge, **Phil Nichol** as Hugo and **Josie Walker** as Margaret.
