I have probably missed out a few, but I can only include performers I've seen. ## 10. **Matthew Seadon Young - **Soon to perform in The ENO production of [**Sweeney Todd with Emma Thompson and Bryn Terfel**](https://www.londontheatredirect.com/musical/254/Sweeney-Todd-tickets.aspx) I saw Mathew in the fabulous **Urinetown** as Bobby Strong. His cute and charming characterisations of Bobby were so endearing that I was sad when he met his untimely and very gory death. ## 9. **Alistair Brammer** as** **Chris in [**Miss Saigon at The Prince Edward Theatre**](https://www.londontheatredirect.com/musical/1167/Miss-Saigon-tickets.aspx) The first entry on my list from this multi award winning revival. I really like Brammer's strong and manly performance and absolutely loved his interaction with the legend Lea Salonga at the 25th Anniversary Gala. ## 8. **Kwang Ho Hong-Thuy** in** [Miss Saigon at The Prince Edward Theatre](https://www.londontheatredirect.com/musical/1167/Miss-Saigon-tickets.aspx)** What's on Stage award winner Kwang Ho Hong is a mega star in his homeland of South Korea. His portrayal of the Commissar Thuy in Miss Saigon has the perfect balance of being menacing but still making you feel sympathy for the character. I also loved his rendition of the Les Miserables classic, 'Bring him home' at Hugh Maynard's recent Album launch. ## 7. **Hugh Maynard-John** in** [Miss Saigon at The Prince Edward Theatre](https://www.londontheatredirect.com/musical/1167/Miss-Saigon-tickets.aspx)** Hugh's smooth and rich voice make his John a real treat. With a newly released solo album, Hugh is showing his depth and creativity as a performer. ## 6. **Brian Sears** as Elder Cunningham in [**The Book Of Mormon at The Prince of Wales Theatre**](https://www.londontheatredirect.com/musical/990/The-Book-of-Mormon-tickets.aspx) Sear's Cunningham is sweet, and just so lovable. He's like your favourite Teddy bear, with the added bonus of making you laugh. ## 5. **Jason Pennycooke** as Bobby in [**Memphis at the Shaftesbury Theatre**](https://www.londontheatredirect.com/musical/1475/Memphis-tickets.aspx) Although a relatively small role Olivier nominated Pennycooke really stood out for me in Memphis with his charming and cheeky portrayal of the cleaner come DJ, Bobby. ## 4. **Killian Donnely** as Hughy in [**Memphis at the Shaftesbury Theatre**](https://www.londontheatredirect.com/musical/1475/Memphis-tickets.aspx) Donnely has all the of the elements of a real star. Great voice, great timing and in Memphis, a wonderfully sensitive connection with the audience. ## 3. **Geronimo Rauch** as The Phantom in** [Phantom of the Opera at Her Majesty's Theatre](https://www.londontheatredirect.com/musical/13/Phantom-of-The-Opera-tickets.aspx)** Argentine superstar, Raunch was a revelation for me when I watched the show for the third time last year. Beautifully smooth and melodic, Raunch's 'Music of the night' is wonderful. ## 2. **Peter Lockyer** as Jean Valjean in [**Les Miserables at The Queen's Theatre**](https://www.londontheatredirect.com/musical/197/Les-Miserables-tickets.aspx) They say your eyes are a window to your soul and Lockyer is able to portray pain and loss with one look. Fabulous depiction of this classic role. ## 1. **Jon Jon Briones** as The Engineer in [**Miss Saigon at The Prince Edward Theatre**](https://www.londontheatredirect.com/musical/1167/Miss-Saigon-tickets.aspx) Olivier nominated Briones has transformed this otherwise 'all so ran' character into the Peter Pan of Saigon. Not too sleazy but instead funny with just enough sentiment, Briones has my vote for the best actor in a musical gong. These are my top ten but who are yours?
