Cedar Lake Contemporary Balle
New York's Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet makes its long overdue UK debut premiering a vibrant and daring triple bill of works by a fascinating mix of provocative choreographers.
The company bring their renowned classical technique and physical power to perform Hofesh Shechter's Violet Kid, choreographed to his own original score, as well as Alexander Ekman's exploration of rhythm, Tuplet and Grace Engine, Crystal Pite's examination of the stories that connect mankind.
Artistic director and host of Breakin' Convention and Sadler's Wells Associate Artist, Jonzi D returns to his roots and looks to the future with his dual programme Lyrikal Fearta - Redux.
The first programme features some of Jonzi's most critically acclaimed works; Guilty, Shoota, Safe, Aeroplane Man and Silence the Bitchin', while the second comprises new works as Jonzi continues to respond to the world around him in his own unique 'choreopoetic' style. Both programmes feature music, poetry, movement, politics and wit.
