Marisha Wallace returns to West End's Waitress with new 2020 cast

Further 2020 casting has been announced for the West End production of [***Waitress***](https://www.londontheatredirect.com/musical/3309/waitress-tickets.aspx), which continues to delight audiences at [**London's Adelphi Theatre**](https://www.londontheatredirect.com/venue/3/adelphi-theatre.aspx) night after night.
## New 2020 *Waitress *cast fresh from the oven!
**Marisha Wallace** will officially reprise her role as Becky **from 6 January 2020**. The news comes after she took to Twitter earlier this month to tease a surprise: "*There is something I want to tell y'all so bad ugh!!!* **#ihatesecrets**." She was subsequently announced a week later to be starring in *The Best of The West End: Stage and Screen* at the Royal Albert Hall on 9 March 2020. But perhaps her tweet was, in fact, referring to her highly-anticipated return to [***Waitress The Musical***](https://www.londontheatredirect.com/musical/3309/waitress-tickets.aspx).
Also announced to be joining the New Year cast of *Waitress* is **Evelyn Hoskins **(*Assassins*, *Carrie*), who is set to take over the role of Dawn from **Hannah Tointon** beginning **on 27 January 2020**. Hoskins will join the [**previously announced**](https://www.londontheatredirect.com/news/sara-bareilles-to-join-west-end-waitress-cast-along-with-gavin-creel) **Sara Bareilles** and** Gavin Creel** as Jenna Hunterson and Dr Pomatter respectively, alongside [**Joel Montague**](https://www.londontheatredirect.com/news/joel-montague-to-join-west-end-waitress-cast)** **as Ogie.
Monique **Ashe-Palmer** will take over the role of ensemble member from **Cindy Belliot **from 9 January 2020.
### Multi-award-nominated musical *Waitress *must end 4 July 2020!
*Waitress *made headlines at the beginning of this month when it became [**nominated for several WhatsOnStage Awards**](https://www.londontheatredirect.com/news/juliet-dominates-whatsonstage-award-nominee-announcements), including Best New Musical and Best Actress in a Musical for **Katharine McPhee**. **Marisha Wallace** was also announced as a nominee for Best Supporting Actress in a Musical for her portrayal of Dawn.
The London musical will officially come to a close on 4 July 2020 before hitting the road for its highly anticipated nationwide tour across the UK.
### An abridged background of *Waitress The Musical*
*Waitress *features a book by **Jessie Nelson**, direction by Tony Award-winning director** Diane Paulus**, an original score by seven-time Grammy Award nominee **Sara Bareilles**, and choreography by **Lorin Latarro**. The top-tier creatives collectively became the first all-female creative team on Broadway.
The musical is based on the indie film of the same name by the late screenwriter **Adrienne Shelly**, who was sadly [**murdered in 2006**](https://www.londontheatredirect.com/news/a-bakers-dozen-facts-about-waitress-the-musical) before *Waitress *was screened at the Sundance Film Festival.
The story of *Waitress The Musical* centres on a southern waitress named Jenna who works at the local diner. She enters a pie baking contest to win the grand prize and escape her abusive husband. Will her dreams come true?
